Hi...
was at work yesterday and got a call from DH who came home early and decided to let the chickens out....
He went out to the coop and thought something was odd. They were all inside except for 4, which were way on the other side of the run...
The one flew full force into the fence..... it was a hawk IN the run. The others bolted for the coop, and he closed them in, opened the doors and eventually the hawk flew out...... I did lose one bird.......
I am still unsure how it got into the run... it is covered with heavy netting. Must have been a gap from the weight of the leaves.
I have spent all morning "buttoning it up".
Thought I was all finished with it and filling waterers, etc, when I noticed my dark brahma must have taken a hit to the eye.
I have pics, but Im not sure how to get them on here.
I have washed it out (as best I can) with peroxide, and put terrimycin on it.
Anything else I can do?? I also have her separated from the others....
Thanks
Wynn
