Try running deer netting and bird netting side by side to see difference in usable life.
Other means needed to keep raccoons out as even deer netting not sufficient.
Totally agree...other means needed for raccoon...never meant to imply only means...but I have been surprised at the hardiness of the bird netting in my own use...really is amazingly sturdy stuff...and the fact that it really does deter wider assortment of critters than I would have thought simply because they get caught up in it (like a spider web) when you cascade it over the run like a bridal veil.
I have my broody hutch and run completely canopied and draped to the ground with bird netting, like one big full size bridal veil. I did it for hawks, but have found it to deter the curious coon or rat...who move on to easier hunting grounds after hanging up in it...but not the determined one....that one crawled through a breach I did not know about and attempted to drag the birds through chicken wire (unsuccessfully)....so I also have my broodies and babies locked behind a raised enclosed, wooden hutch with proper wire and netting on hutch doors and windows (and fixed the hole in the fence).
