Hawk grabbed call duck! Help needed!

:woot

I might wait a few more days before I throw the eggs to be sure, sure.
Thanks! I will wait just to be safe! Should day 14 be ok? Splash has run off his girl with my neighbor’s Pond again! She’s now making a nest over there... :he
I will go retrieve them and collect the eggs because we’ve been having problems here...
I do fear my nesting guinea has been eaten... All I found was the intact nest and a pile of feathers nearby. There was no blood but there was around 50 or more feathers... She was here this morning so I don’t know what happened.:(:hit

Here’s the day 7 candling pictures from yesterday! Do these air cells look ok @Isaac 0 ? This is going to be complicated because I’ll have a very staggered hatch because my guinea eggs are all on different days now... I’ve been keeping the humidity between 40-55. I have one guinea on day 15 and others on day 10 then my ones from the guinea that got killed are all on unknown days... What should lockdown look like?

The top 3 pictures are egg A

The bottom 3 are egg B

Here’s the chart I’ve been trying to compare the air cells to. I’m not sure if I should start weighing the eggs or change the humidity... today is day eight and they look a bit big. Like I said it has been steady between 40-55, sometimes lower when I haven’t added water in a while. I think the air cells look alright I may just be panicking...:lau

Sorry, I've been busy lately.

I've had a "staggered hatch" once, unless you get another incubator, you have to almost split the difference between the humidity levels. Of course, you'll likely have some humidity related issues with the eggs, so just pay attention.

The air cells looks a bit too small, I might keep it more around 45%.

Thank you very much for the advice! I’ve been busy as well so I completely understand! I’m kind of worried since this is my first staggered hatch and I am unable to get another incubator. I’m definitely watching them closely (probably too closely)!
I will try to keep the humidity around 45. I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed and I hope I can get these little guys to hatch day!

Ok, now that I'm not completely exhausted I thought I'd explain what I was talking about earlier a little more.

When you have staggered hatches like this, it can be tricky, mainly due to the humidity levels. You want the humidity low enough for the early eggs, but high enough for the hatching eggs so they don't get shrink-wrapped.

So unless you get another incubator, you'll have to cut it in the middle for both hatches. When I had mine, I kept the humidity around 45/50%, and once the late egg's hatched I lowered it back down to where they should be, as to try to correct any humidity issues before they hatch. Of course, that won't always be the case so make sure to pay close attention the eggs looking for signs of shrinkwrapping, etc.

Thank you very much for taking the time to explain that. That makes it much easier for me to understand what I’m going to do. I looked into getting another incubator but it’s just not practical because I don’t hatch enough for it to be worth it. I’ve been kind of concerned on this. It wasn’t supposed to be a staggered hatch... but because my broody guinea was killed I had to make room for her eggs (I’m not really sure even what day they’re on...) my other guinea was also sitting in an unsafe area so I took her nest to keep her safe and put her in my yard with the others.

I have 7 guinea eggs that are definitely developing. And two duck eggs.

2 guinea on day 17

2 guinea on day 10

3 guinea on an an unknown date

2 calls ducks on day eight

And 7 guinea eggs that I have no clue what day or if they’re developing

I had to draw smiley faces on some just so I can keep them straight... :lau

Pictures/Videos can sometimes be deceiving, but they look ok to me. Is there a healthy amount of veins inside the egg?
Yes. There is a lot of veining in the eggs. They’re moving around good as well. I think they’re doing fine. :) I’ve also been trying to keep the humidity steady around 45. It’s quite hard to see in the video but they look good in person.
