Hawk grabbed call duck! Help needed!

Awesome❤. I think that’s what happened to my Muscovy Dolly she got hit hard an the puncture is not in the eye but right at the corner. I am not sure she can see out of that eye now. :( Her two Runners she hatched this year sure do love her. Even though they are 12 weeks old now they still know she’s their momma

aww! sending my love to Dolly! I bet those babies are helping her recover! Sounds like the hawks of the world are being devious lately. That's really sweet that her babies still know that she's their mama! Hoping her eye heals up good as well! 💕 :fl

Little Splash is still the same. Doing well, ate earlier today, drank water, and is walking, acting good for the most part. I have noticed that he keeps holding his head really low to the ground. He only does it sometimes and mainly at night he starts doing it a lot. I’m not sure what it’s from. A neck injury? The puncture in his chest hurts? His eyesight is off because of the jnjury by his eye? He gets tired out from being injured... or something else? Any ideas? I have a video of him holding his head low then another video of him a couple minutes later acting better and barely doing that... I will post the videos in a minute and label the low stance: 1
And the normal stance: 2

Could you post the video?
Yes sorry my Vimeo was being fussy. Here’s a video when he was holding his head good I know he can stretch it and have seen him do so... this was only about two minutes after the other one where he held it really low... I cannot get the other of him actually holding his head low to upload I’ll keep trying... it says error... thanks for replying UPDATED: I got the video of him holding his head low to upload below in the next post ⬇

Hmm, maybe someone else will have a better clue. My best guess is he might have hurt his neck during the attack. Or he is keeping his head low to the ground as a way to cope with blindness in one eye, stupid?

Could you set him in a small enclosure, and move your hand towards his bad eye, and see if he reacts?

Thanks much. I was stumped to as why he does it. I tried that but he didnt react with either eye... I think he’s tired of me. :hmm

I do know that when I was trying to feed him earlier he had a hard time seeing the food at all. I don’t think it’s a neck injury because he cleans and preens himself, he also has full mobility of his neck... I’m not sure why he’s doing that... I thought it might be because he’s sore from getting dropped by the hawk.
is there anything else I should be doing for him as of now?

Rest will ultimately be the best, but if you have/ or can get some, some DMSO on where you think its sore might help relive any present pain.

Ok thanks. I might try that if he keeps putting his head low. Where could I get some DMSO? Is that like an ointment/ wound salve for pain/arthritis?
