I just had a hawk attack as well. Threehorses gave me the info I needed, I followed it but did not use any antibiotics besides colloidal silver. My hen had a pretty decent chunk out of her breast meat too, and she is all healed with no scar!
I didn't even discover the injury until she had maggots all over her, check my thread it has a pretty graphic photo of the wound about 4 days after I treated it like threehorses suggests.
Clean it really well
Pack with neosporin
Do not cover wound, leave it open to dry out.
Put her in a box or crate with clean towels and if you want put paper towels on top of your towel bed.
If she makes it through the shock then she has a pretty good chance. Keep smelling the wound everyday and make sure it isn't getting infected. (make sure you read my thread...it should be helpful)
