Hawks

I have 8 Buff Orpington chicks that are 6 wks old today. I wonder if it is possible for a hawk to swoop down and carry off a full grown hen? We have a full grown Pekin duck and we weren't too worried about that after she was grown. But my girls...and a least one mistake roo...are not allowed out to free range in the yard unless I'm out there.

They won't fly off with them. They kill them and eat what they can before taking off.
