Hawks

Is there anything I can put in my yard to deter hawks, and other big flying things, from flying down after my Chickie Babies???

a covered run is about it.

The only thing I know of that will chase away hawks are that some birds will fly around them and dart at them until they annoy the hawk enough to leave.

X2 this question!!! The pair of hawks living in the woods behind me hatched out 5 new little hawks this past year and none of them seem interested in moving away from Mama and Papa Hawk...

not sure how long the babies will stay in the area, but sooner or later, mom and pop hawk will chase them away so they can continue the family....

They've a little over a year old now... I thought they would have left by now Lol there's plenty of woods behind us so I'm not sure they will leave... I have to built my runs fully enclosed because of these little buggers. And as a bonus, they perch on my kids swing and poop all over it.

My Solution from the get go, I knew hawks were a problem here.....
........it was confirmed 1 day after letting chickens out into new run.

is that conduit you have bent for your 'rafters'? man that's awesome, how did you attach it to the T-posts?

Now I'm going to have to do some research to see if this would be cheaper than cattle panels for my hoop run
