Hay Uses For Chickens

Hey guys! I was just wondering about the things hay can be used for in the chicken coop/run. Name anything you have used hay for!

Lets see...
nesting box bedding
run bedding in the winter
compost pile in the run (mixed with other things, then sprayed with a hose)
bales of hay just for the chickens to climb on

Entertainment for the chickens mostly. Really like to put a bale or two, open or closed, in the barn and dump scratch on top of it, keeps them busy for ages digging around. Kind of expensive, but they like eating the leaves off of alfalfa hay and it is a good source of greenery in the winter. X2 on hay or straw used as nest box bedding.
