Hay vs Yard Grass

I just want to say I do graze my sheep and goat in the yard because I know what's planted there (fescue).

Check it often in storage, especially over the next few weeks. It is real easy for it to SEEM dry enough when you bagged it (or piled, or whatever you did to it) but have it actually contain enough moisture to start molding. This occurs more easily in "lawn hay" (dried clippings) because it is much finer and packs much tighter than typical baled "real" hay. And be very suspicious-minded about it when you go to use it -- if you see or smell ANYTHING that makes you think 'mold', don't use that portion (generous portion).

Good luck, have fun,

Pat
