HAYBALE: UPDATE

Little feathers are starting to grow on the under/inner side of his wattles.
I don't believe they were there a week ago.

How old is Haybale now?

That last photo is especially nice!
Haybale is almost 4 and a half months old. He's very active and excitable and friendly. Still can't get him on board with the other chickens. He goes outside (when it isn't too cold) but mostly either hides from the chickens or looks for me and makes alarmed yelling sounds if I'm not near. If I'm close, he settles a little and will forage. When he's done, he jumps in my shoulder or lap.

He's tall but hasn't quite filled out weight-wise yet. He's getting there though. I think he's going to be large.

The feathers on the wattle surprised me a little.

Does this occur with certain breeds? Or is he just an overachiever? A lot about his development has been odd (by my standards).
I have no idea! I only have easter egger chickens.
My vote is for overachiever because it sounds cool... Haybale the Overachiever
I can just see a banner with this name over the driveway.
