hazzard a guess ?

He's a week old, I have no idea what breed he is, the egg was a donation from a friend of a friend of a neighbor and I know nothing of their flock. Any thoughts ? I can tell you he is from a brown egg, has the beginnings of a single comb, and stands head and shoulders above my other chicks that are the same age.

I'm going to guess RIR, and a boy. I ordered RIR girls, they had the same color, the same reddish dot at the end of their beaks, and by one week old had tail feathers, so your's is feathering more slowly, which makes me guess boy.
