He ate my birds!!

I’m so mad at myself. I ordered 27 chicks for thanksgiving. I received them today. I sat them in the living room on the table and walked out back to get the water bottle and food tray. When I walked back in, my dog had opened the package an eaten 6 of them. I wasn’t gone but maybe 45 seconds. Maybe a solid minute! Oh I’m so mad.

So I bought 6 more, plus the free packing peanuts.

My question.... will the week old Cornish be ok with day old cornish? I’m pretty sure it will be ok but I wanted to ask the power of wisdom.

You may want to put a divider in the brooder for a couple of days and just watch for any aggression. Cornish chickens grow pretty fast. Good luck! I’m so sorry about your loss of those 6 chicks......

Dogs are so fast! I’m sure he didn’t mean to eat those chicken nuggets, it’s just to him, after being in that shipping box for a couple of days they probably smelled EXTRA yummy.

I agree on the divider for a couple of days and then they’ll probably be fine!
