Keep in mind that if the hens and rooster don't spend much time together, that may not help their relations. Good luck though.

They'll be free ranging together in the chicken run (it's actually our rose garden) and will have the ability to go back and forth from the coop/pen to the run while I'm home. I will separate them when I'm gone.
