With great sadness I must reveal Real Deal Steele passed away today. He went fast. I fed him then went to get a fresh bucket of water and returned to find him lifeless on the ground. He had shared his last treat with his hens who were thoroughly confused to see me carry his lifeless body away. Although not a perfect specimen of his breed, Steele was a good rooster and left many good memories for me to share. On a lighter note, he did manage to sire 8 chicks that a friend hatched. And one is a big blue giant goof ball just like him.

Heart attack most likely due to the heat. Plus he was 'aged'.
