I read this post yesterday and it gave me NIGHTMARES.

Dh needs to fix his mistake if not he should spend the next year kissing______(whatever you decide)

Did I miss the update? Did the guy who bought the chicks call back? Did I sleep thru this post?

Nope, no response from the guy. DF also sent him an email explaining things. I mean, he even asked the guy if he won't sell us back the two chicks if we could just trade Spike for another chick. I really don't get it because if I was in that guys position I would have realized my mistake and called the person to tell them I had taken their chick by accident. (almost makes me thing it wasnt by accident, it was a very cute chick). DF told the guy over and over that the midget (bongo) and feather footed one (Spike) were not for sale and to be careful not to take it. And he DID take it, so it just seems like common decency to give it back???? I guess common decency isnt so common. I can't blame my DF any longer, he feels terrible about it, that was his fave hen too and definitely his second fave chick aside from our special little runt, Bongo. I know he didnt do it on purpose, he just trusted the people because they were very nice. It's a pretty simple instruction too- Don't take the one with fluff on its legs.

We are definitely not going to get my chick back, but DF has agreed to either buy us a few hens or get some more hatching eggs. Looks like we may be getting some nice hatching eggs so fingers crossed!! I do wish I could have got my favourite hens first baby back, but lesson learned, moving on. Either way I would have wanted to get the chick back within a day, now that it has been going on four days, I am not so eager to take them back just in case they caught something. Who knows.

Thanks for all the support everyone and thanks for still thinking of me

I would keep at it if I were you- what do you have to loose. Do you know where the guy lives- you could just go over & ask him personally. It's very easy to ignore someone through email or phone. Not as easy when they're standing on your front stoop....

They called yesterday but my number is a work number during the day and the lady said "you can come get the one chick if you get it in the next few hours, if not forget it." I did not get the message in time, I was out and about and nobody at the office bothered to get a hold of me that night either, so. Bye bye Spike
