i took the plunge yesterday and moved 2 of my 8 young turkeys outside. i didnt put them in the field, i think its too risky...so i put them in a wooden chicken pen (it has a house/shelter and an enclosed run) it was used for chabos for 2 days and has stood empty since. i stood the pen on concrete so no access to the dirt/ground.

anyhow this morning i notice the turkeys have lost their lovely red colour from there heads/necks...it is very pale/white/greyish looking.

would this be down to stress of moving? too cold? too lonely? (gone from a group of 8 to just two)
or am i just an overprotective turkey momma?

My turkeys do that and their head coloring can change from minute to minute depending on any of many factors. I think of them as my own little octopuses!

It could be stress from moving, or not having their old buddies. I think it is from the moving, since there is two, they should be find and not stress about the other 6. They should be back to normal in a couple days once they get accustomed.
