head/comb laceration

Just came home from work. My husband let the chickens out this morning and my EE emerged with a wound to her comb and just above. We only have three. The EE, BO, and Light Brahma. Earlier yesterday the EE had escaped the coop, hopped the fence and was chased by our dogs (someone left a door open....). We managed to save her with only some tail feathers lost. She is close in size with the others but they are just starting to get bigger than her. She was the dominate hen - until this. Were they trying to kick her when she was down so to speak? Maybe a change in pecking order?

She is free ranging with them right now (dogs are inside!) and all seems fine. I'm worried about tonight though. I'm going to clean the wound and put some antibiotic cream on it. Should I take her in for the next couple of nights until she heals?

A pic would help, but if it isn't to the bone or anything I would suggest just disinfecting it with some betadine and let her stay seperated for a couple days so the lac doesn't get pecked at. Good luck.

Thanks. It's not to the bone mostly the top of the comb, then just above on the forehead of sorts. I really have to grab her and get her inside to take a good look.
