My little Silkie is just a dirty mess now from eating watermelon. How do I clean the feathers on the top of her head?

I had a similar problem with my Houdan after eating yogurt- stuck her head feathers in it, and everything she got into after that (shavings, dirt, other feathers) ended up stuck to the top of her head. Gave her a shampoo in the kitchen sink with baby shampoo, and let her spend the night drying in a crate in the bathroom, good as new !

I have the same problem with my polish sometimes. I am just afraid to stick her head in water because I am so scared I will get water down her nostrils and drown her.

If I give her a bath, is it okay to use the blow dryer on a low setting?

Yes. Just make sure it's low as possible, and not too hot or cold(warmish...)
Good luck and I hope your Silkie girl gets clean soon!
