Hi! I'm new here and I've got an issue (potentially more than one). I have a flock of 6 hens, 5 are the same age of about 18 months (4 are Black Copper Marans & one is Salmon Faverolle - Tink aka Tinkerbell) and 1 that is about 9 months. Plus 4 ducks. The 9 month old is a Rhode Island Red (Red) and is currently the only chicken laying right now as the older ones were going through a molt.
Tink is recovering from Bumblefoot which she's had a handful of times. Not a huge deal. At one point she even had it on both feet.
Tink has also been "Head Hen" since we lost our Salmon Faverolle rooster to a dog this summer.
Problem is that a couple weeks ago my daughter noticed that Red had attacked Tink much like dueling roosters would. She ran into the woods and it took, my daughter, my husband, and I to coax her out and put her in the run (everyone free-ranges during the day). Next day same thing only it was one of the Black Copper Marans. Ever since (2 weeks now), we let everyone out in the morning but, Tink. They can't get in the run/coop and she can't get out. For the most part its been ok. She roosts with them at night. This morning I went to let everyone out and I noticed that Tink had a little blood on her comb.
I don't know what to do. Her Bumblefoot is healing and she's had it before with no issues from anyone. She's my sweet little Tink and I want to figure this out so that everyone can get along.
Does anyone have any advice? I saw an article about putting her in jail but, she's pretty much been like that with her in the run and everyone out during the day.
I'm afraid there's something underlying that I'm not seeing and yet the other chickens can.
