Yesterday night I went to routinely feed water and love on my chicks and chickens. I went and counted the chicks I had 8. 1 was injured. 1 was missing. And 1 ended up falling in water and drowning (she was about 4-5 months old). The missing one showed up today around 5 pm. I took her straight inside in a bin with food water and fresh shavings. She has a severe head injury. She seems responsive and happy but she can't lay down and I want to do what's best for her. What can I do to clean her wound and keep her alive. (There is 1 other chick with her because it is injured too). The other chick has a leg injury and can't walk.

While it looks gory, it's possible she can recover, if it's just the scalp wound shown and nothing internal or otherwise not visible. I'm guessing you may already have cleaned the wound and applied ointment to it. I find that Vetericyn AF spray can really help the healing process, and if that's not available, a triple antibiotic ointment (pain free) can help prevent infection. Since she's also stressed, I'd offer plenty of high protein food, water, and a supplement to support her like Poultry Nutri-Drench. With time and TLC, she may get back to her old self. Sending good wishes for her recovery!

Sadly she did pass but I was with her through the whole process so she wasn't alone. She had clean bedding a clean wound and fresh food and water.
