Head shaking

One of our chickens keeps shaking her head. She started about two weeks ago and once in a while she will cough. What do we do for her?

It is possible that it is a respiratory disease:

However, I have seen chickens shaking their heads every 5-15 seconds due to mites. After dusting with Poultry Dust the head shaking stopped immediately.

Ear mites are another possible cause I've heard of.

But my guess would be your hen has a respiratory problem & is trying to clear mucus in her throat or nose.
