When I went to check my neighbors’ flock this morning I found the three ducklings had been killed in the night. Their little bodies are intact, just headless.
This is the same flock that’s lost two chickens and another duckling over the past week, probably to a dog. I believe the culprit this time is something different as the birds were killed inside the coop and not consumed, unlike the other instances.

Does this sound like a raccoon or possum? Or something else?

The owner is due back home today. We’re going to get together for a little chat, and a coaching session.

So sorry about your losses. If you or your neighbor have a game camera, put it up then you will know for sure what the predator is. It has probably been lurking looking for opportunities. Good luck...
