To those of you that purchase your own health insurance.. where have you found that gives the best coverage for the $$? Mine has raised tremendously.. so I'm 'shopping'. Thank you.
(P.S.) Just me, kids are raised.

I get mine from MESSA, which is the Michigan public school employees' health care network. It is basically Blue Cross Blue Shield. I pay a little extra every paycheck for whatever their "premium" package is, but it's worth it because we spend a LOT on health care for how old we are due to my DH's gastrointestinal disease. He is on a lot of meds.

I have vision and dental, and my co-pay for any doctors' visits (including to the emergency room) is $15. My DH was in the hospital for three weeks this summer, and between his health insurance and mine (he's on both), we had to pay about $30.

I'm not sure if this helps... but hopefully it gives you some sort of idea. What plans are available to purchase through your workplace?

You can type in your info and get quotes from a whole bunch of different companies, both HMO and PPO and emergency only plans.... Give it shot.
