I have a great big Muscovy drake approx 2yrs old. I saw him lying in the run and thought it was dead, but he twitched a bit. Got the ants off him and helped him drink. He can’t sit or stand, and one leg is sort of curled under. If he lifts his head it sways around. I carried him a bit and he huffed a few times, and he kicked weakly but that’s it.
Are scovies prone to strokes or sudden neuro problems? There are no injuries that I can see and nothing feels broken; there’s a small patch of bloodied feathers on his neck, but the blood was not at the skin. DH believes a calf stepped on him or kicked him, but there are only two calves so it just doesn’t seem likely.
He’s resting in the hay for now, bc I really don’t think there’s anything I can do. Just looking for info. Pics of after I got the ants off, and then settled him in the hay.
