Ok, a little update!

8 In the brooder! All looking healthy now. the last two that hatched gave me a scare..:

And here is the most exciting news! #9 pipped. If it makes it out ok, I have 9 for 9, at a 100% hatch rate!

This is my first hatch ever, in a DIY incubator running a dismantled aquarium heater's thermostat, and using a strip heater for an element.

well, the last egg pipped, and did no more. We did some investigating, and found it was dead in the shell... have no idea what happened. So, the final count is 8 out of 9 eggs. Not bad considering it was my first try!
