I was sitting on my computer, browsing byc when I heard a PEEP from my 16 day old eggs!!!
Should I put them into early lockdown???

If you're wondering why this might have happened, at about day 6, I had a 3 hour temp spike of between 106 and 115
Other than that spike, I have been keeping them at a regular temp of 99-101

Should I be totally freaking out? Because I fear I may faint.

Wow ~ I'm not sure. You have me worried now about my own. I can't hear peeping from my bator but I have 15 3 week old in the same room!

I have been thinking about when I should do my own lockdown. I put them in on Thurs. the 8th at 9 pm and and debating either tonight or tomorrow morning for lockdown. My last chicks were 2 days early!

I'd start lockdown now. Mine started peeping on day 17 and hatched out on days 18-19. I had a great hatch 22/24 with the two unhatched being late 2nd week quiters, so don't worry too much just yet, but do start lockdown. Happy hatching!

Okay, thank you!!!!
Just in case though, if it were a false alarm and my crazy self was hearing things, can it hurt them to be out of the turner early?

I'd bring the humidity up to at least 60% and then jack it up to 70% or so when you see pipping. Mine ran between 62-75 for the most part, but spiked up to the low 90's at one point when 6 or so peeps zipped and hatched in about 60 minutes. I cranked the heat up in the room and took out chicks and shells at that point. I know it's a bit no no to open the bator during hatch, and I wouldn't reccomend it, but at that point I was more worried about drowning chicks in the eggs then I was about shrink wrapping them.
