Heart attack times two

First year for broilers. I've always had dual purpose and never lost a chick before. I followed the 24/7 feed for 2 wks advice (they are a week and a half) but am going to put the rest on an immediate restriction diet. Anyone had experience with them having heart attacks that early on? I'm also thinking I'll butcher a couple wks earlier than the norm for that reason.

How do you know it was a heart attack?

I watched it happen. He was breathing heavily before I went to bed and then I awoke to squawking and flailing and then he was done.

Oh, crud! I have a batch that are 1 1/2 weeks old. They seem to be doing ok. I have read conflicting things on when to restrict their feed. One hatchery says restrict it after 5 days and another says restrict feed after 3 weeks. Hmmm. Since this is my first batch I'm kind of playing it by ear.
