After 27 years of being a cop he doesn't get excited very easily, neither at work or at home.
So he's on patrol last night in the horrible storm we were having and he finds a pregnant 16 year old standing in the middle of the highway. Turns out she was riding with her b/f when they had an argument and the b/f stopped the car and told her to get out. My SO finds out she's 8 months pregnant and not from this area. Her b/f has family here, but she's from Arizona.
My SO decided to take her to the sheriff's office figuring that once the b/f calmed down he'd come back looking for her. The sheriffs office is on the outskirts of town. They almost make it there when the girl suddenly says "ut oh! There's something come out down there!". My SO said he made it to the hospital (on the other side of town) in record time.
I feel real bad for the girl but I had to giggle at my SO's reaction. He just kept saying how he was getting too old for those kind of things.
