Hi everyone,

I'm just wondering if there are any heat bulbs that anyone can recommend for newly hatched chicks. Thank you!

I used a red bulb I bought from tractor supply it was a two pack for like $9. I have been pleased. You just need to monitor the temp or put on a dimmer switch because they can make some serious heat.

Most pet stores in my experience sell heating lamps which are intended for lizards. I've found those fine to use for quail/chickens. Easy enough to pick the size/wattage which corresponds to how many birds you're catering for

I use a 125w infared heat lamp for the chicks that are kept in the house. I have tried different brand with prices running around $2-$3 a bulb.

I use a yellow bug light, they seem to like the warm glow of it.
