Heat lamp broke, 10 day old chicks

My four chicks are ten days old and the heat lamp broke. How long can they survive without one.

I hope the heat lamp didn't break on them? Are they ok?

As long as you get another soon, they will be fine. Get a heating pad and put it in with them. Make sure you hold and cuddle them. Maybe even give them a stuffed animal or something to snuggle up in. If you have to, put a small space heater new their brooder.

Hope someone can pick up a replacement one for you soon. Do you have a heating pad, or hot water bottle? .> You could cover with towels so they don't get burned.

I found another bulb under a lot of boxes in the garage. Thanks for the help though.

glad you found the light.

I was afraid of power outages when my hens were chicks, got some of those hand warmers - the type hunters use activated by pressing and shaking- to have around just in case.

Hope all goes well from now on, good luck with your little ones.
