Heat lamp....I know I know

Sorry guys, I may be a little more over concerned than I need to be.

the coop and run are dry. I am in CT.

yes they are all fully feathered. Maybe I just feel bad I don’t know. I guess I will eliminate the heat lamp all together. I do know last night when I got home 7 of them were all cuddled together without the heat lamp inside the coop. And the other 2 were on their own because they’re sassy and independent.

The water is kept in their run as well and the food. That’s how it’s been since day one.

Hi @2006powerstroke90. I'm also in CT. If it makes you feel better, I put my 10 week old pullets in their coop for tonight. I'm confident they'll be fine.

I never thought I’d care as much as I do. But I am willing to take everyone’s advice about the heat lamp. I will remove it from the run. Not that I’m worried about burning it down. I don’t want them to get used to it and then we lose power or whatever and they freeze to death.

Good morning, @2006powerstroke90! How did they do? My girls are all fluffed out and doing fine. I also have a hard time holding my nerve when it comes to my flock. It's so different from caring for other pets.

they did great! I removed the heat lamp completely. I’m sure they’ll be fine.
