I was wondering what’s everyone opinion on this? I live in Michigan where the weather is unpredictable and be very cold sometimes. My ducks are probably about 4 1/2 or 5 weeks old. They still have some of their baby fluff, but mostly feathers. Do you ever put a heat lamp in the coop? I’ve read many mixed opinions on this.

We just put our ducks outside at about 7 or 8 weeks old. They are TSC ducks so not really sure or of their age. They are losing their baby down and getting feathers. Anyway, Pennsylvania has been cold enough right now that I've left the heat lamp on outside in their house at night which is a repurposed rabbit hutch. In fact, it's been cold enough that I have also turned the lamp around to shine it on the ground outside the hutch during the day and the ducks have gathered up straw and made a nest under the lamp! As soon as the sun goes away that's where they go until we put them in the hutch at night.
