I have had a 250 watt red heat lamp on in my house over my brooder for a month or longer. I have an incubator and Have raised one batch of chicks. My electric bill jumped over $100 this month and way higher than last year same time. Can using the heat lamp cause this?

heat lamp bulbs cost about $6 per month to run. maybe try googling your brand\size of incubator to see how much electricity it uses? also, small electric heaters can use a lot of juice. we had one running near constantly for about 10 days in early may to keep our greenhouse above freezing and it made our electric bill jump $35
