Tell me if this idea will work. I will have new chicks in my basement which is around 50-55 degrees. I then may move them to the garage as the weather improves and they grow bigger.
My question is this... If I get a 200Watt Bulb and Lamp with a dimmer, will this allow me the range I need for both environments? I know 200Watts is overkill for the basement setup, but will the dimmer allow me to lessen the heat when in the basement and increase heat when in the garage? Do you follow? I'm figuring bigger 'Bulb with Dimmer = More Temp Range'... Or should a 150Watt bulb suffice.
The reason is, I need to buy the lamp, and one size fits up to 150W, the other accommodates 200W
Input please,
Thanks,
Steve

I just edited it... The 10" lamp only accepts up to 200W Bulbs... Do you think that would be enough heat for a garage in the spring time? Temps in the 40s?
