heat lamps

Depends on the temp in the room the chicks are in.
If the temp is in the 70's to 80's then you can certainly turn off the heat lamp.
When you turn off the lamp, watch them for a few hours to see if they huddle together piled on top of each other.
That usually indicates they're too cold.
Chicks really need less heat than we think.
Good luck!

at two weeks I think you could turn off the lamp during the day however definately keep it on during the night. And be sure to observe the fuzzibutts and see how they respond.

hahaha, I just realized that you may think that fuzzibutts was something for you to observe or something, it is just a endearing name for chicks

1st week- 90 degrees
2nd week- 85 degrees
3rd week- 80 degrees
The temperature should decrease by 5 degrees each week. Keep the heat lamp, adjusting the temperature until the temperature is about the same.
