I know that older hens stop (or at least significantly slow down) laying eggs. I am wondering if heat also has a recognizable effect on egg laying. This assumes that the chickens in question are getting plenty of food, water and shade. I had been getting up to 3-7 eggs/day, but lately (long stretch of heat), we are getting 2-4/day. Two of our chickens are over 3 years old, so I am thinking this may be a combination of the two, simply age, or if there is something else going on.
