Heat plate and plastic tote?

I have a big sterlite brand plastic bin that I’m setting up for my brooder. I was planning to put the foam shelf paper under pine shavings ... so the little chic feet don’t slip all over... question.. I have a “rent a coop” heating plate I plan on using at an angle so the babies can get close or not “as close”... as needed.... but question... will it be safe to use as such? Like not melt the plastic tote or shelf liner ?? Have never used yet.. thought I would ask other users... thanks!!!

Be careful

i have had it running for the day on top of a puppy pad in the plastic tote and heats up very nicely... and no melting of anything.. not even close... guess the radiant heat function is different... just some test runs... no chics as of yet... eggs are resting and will be placed in the incubator tomorrow

Tips? Use grip liner at bottom of plastic brooder. You won't have any leg problems.

Yup! I have that under the puppy pad... and also for the incubator for hatch time

Pretty tiny I have one cut a paper egg carton at lock down I use the flat side
