These guys are just over 5 weeks old according to the hatchery. I’m in eastern iowa and the low here at night is 48. They appear to be pretty fully feathered I’m wondering if they still need a heat source in the coop or if they will be okay without one. My coop is insulated slightly and not very drafty. There’s a couple with a little floof left on their heads but there are 10 of them in here.

They will be fine as long as they have already been weaned off heat. That should have been done at age three weeks during the day and they should have been sleeping at night without heat in recent days. Then they can move into the coop with no heat. I would plug up any direct drafts. Ventilation is good. Drafts are not good.
