I know this topic has been discussed multiple times on here and I have read them so I wanted to interject this item I purchased.
K&H Pet Products Thermo-Peep... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JHK375E?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
It does not have adjustable heat settings just turns off once it gets to around 100 degrees or something like that.
I am curious as to if anyone else has used this particular type of heating plate (it’s not a heating PAD)?
I and wanting to move away from the overhead heat lamp, the 6 chicks are kept indoors, in my office where it’s about 70-75 during the day and about the same at night. They are about 2-3 weeks old roughly.
i know the chicks need to be kept warm until their feathers come in. But that heat lamp is overly warm in my already warm office and it’s raising our electric bill!
I thought about flipping it over, elevating it so they can go under it, like I’ve seen a few do on here in my research into this.
Do y’all think with it being used either way it will keep the chicks warm enough throughout the day and night?
thanks!
