It's supposed to be very hot, 104 today and tomorrow and it came on fast. My 4 chicks are 3 months old and live in a fenced in pen that's about 15 by 20 ft. They have a coop I bought from Amazon thats actually 2 connected together. I have the pen mostly covered so they have plenty of shade. If I'm not home will they be ok? Will their water get too hot? Will they get too hot? They've been living outside for about a month now.

Some breeds do better in the heat than others but generally if it's that hot you might want to freeze small pop bottles full of water and float them in their waterer. They can keep the water cooler for longer. If they have shade and adequate fresh water and ventilation that will help. A tray with water that would be a few inches deep for them to wade in might also help. If it's very dry you could look into a misting system but that won't help if it's humid out. You could also put up a fan if you need extra air circulation but it would have to be protected from any weather. You can also freeze treats to give them when you get home but be careful how much you give of anything like berries or watermelon and such, it freezes well for treats but too much can give them runny poo.
