So my chicks are a week old today (WoooHOOO!)

And in their short lives the temperatures outside have varied from a low of 28 to a high of 92. They seem to like the brooder to be around 85 degrees.

Today the high is 92 and I brought them inside from the garage and set them up in a bathroom with a tiny window, figuring it will probably be the coolest, safest place in the house (the garage is uninsulated and gets rather hot in the sun)

What would happen if they get too hot? they have the ability to get away from their heat lamp, but the air in the room will still probably be around 85 by the time I get home at 4:30.. (I had to leave the heat lamp on, pulled up as high as I could since it was cool this morning and they were complaining that it was too cold with the light off)

I think I've done everything I can, but I am curious if there was more I could do (short of staying home with them to turn off the light when it got too hot)
