Heat stress or extreme weather

How should I deal with extreme temperatures of 40° and above. What should I feed them or what is to be done to prevent or lower heat stress. Please elaborate it.My birds are penned down.

Lots of shade, cool fresh water at all times, and air circulation.

I put fruits and vegetables in my freezer, then take them out for the chickens to peck at and eat during hot days.

Frozen water bottles in the water buckets, fans, and shade mostly but I did put in an overhead misting system. I also made a quick and easy one out of lawn soakers.

Misting is definitely ideal, although not always practical. They also love frozen treats (freeze vegetables & water in ice trays)....it's a great way to cool them down.

Chill. All you need is cold water and shade. If they are still panting out a fan in there.and to keep them healthy put some electra lights in their water. what type of chickens do you have?

Actually I was talking about peafowl. But thanks I guess the same remedy works for both chicken or peas.
