Hi I have had a few posts in the last few days but I wanted to ask another question.

I am still really worried about my Henryetta. 8 month old RIR. About two weeks ago it got really really hot hear and I don't think she handled the heat like my other 3 grils. Anyway I had two RIR's who were laying an egg a day for the last 2 months or so. Ever since the heat wave Henryetta has stopped laying. For the past week or so the weather is back in the upper 60"s to low 70"s (perfect wether

). I have checked for molting, felt for a lump for an eggbound egg, and wormed all my girls. I finished the worming solution this weekend. Still I am only getting one egg from my two laying girls. Henryetta is acting normal again (I think she was the wormy one) eating drinking pooping sleeping playing and being bossy like normal. How long does it take them to restart laying eggs? I thought maybe it was the light (since it's getting darker sooner) but Red the other RIR is still giving me an egg a day and hasn't missed a day for the last two months! What is going on with my lady? Byc members let me know I shouldn't eat the eggs for two weeks after I have wormed so even if she was laying I couldn't eat them but I want her to lay again and get into her routine. Is she sick? Would worms make her stop laying like this? Or would she still be traumatized by the heat?

I hope someone has some more ideas for me. I have looked for signs or all the above situations I have mentioned.

If it's very hot, try adding electrolytes to their drinking water. Also, some plain low-fat yogurt is a good way to get their gut flora back to normal after worming.

I have given yogart and the temps are much cooler for the past week and a half or so. It was only a couple days of real hot weather. While the others seemed hot but ok, Henryetta looked like she had heat stroke!

She looks great now just no eggs!
