Heat Tolerant Egg Producer Suggestions Needed

Hi y'all!

Newbie here from the Midlands of South Carolina. I would love some advice based on personal experiences on chicken breeds that are great egg producers and can take the heat and humidity of SC. I'm a newbie so I also would like these breeds to be better for a first time, about to be, crazy chicken lady. The absolute best in my world would also be if they are dual purpose birds.

Help please!
You may want to evaluate Anconas. They lay well like leghorns and are better for meat than leghorns. Not broody.

Hi and welcome! I just did research on birds that can take heat (got to 111 here last year) before getting chicks and from what I remember you might want to look into Australorps, Rhode Island Reds, and Whiting True Blues.

My Easter Egger is my most consistent layer, but my Barred Rock is the only one who hasn’t showed any signs of heat stress even at 90 degrees. 🥵
