I just moved chicks outside but normally the weather is about 72 degrees at night and in the high 80s during the day. The humidity adds about 10° "real feel." I do not currently have a heat lamp on them but I do have about 5, 3 week old chicks in the bunch of my 21 chickens. I have anywhere from age 3 weeks to 5 weeks. They pant during the day and huddle together at night. Do they need heat anymore? Or are they getting enough by just body heat at night? I know they definitely don't need it during the day! My original concern was them being too hot outside with this coastal weather!
