Heatsink Question. What to use?

I have been thinking of adding some sort of heatsink, mounted near the light bulb to try and smooth out the temperature fluctuations a bit with my home made incubator. What works well as a heat sink? I was considering a brick or stone, as I think they would hold their heat well.

Any thoughts on this?

Small jars of any type, smaller canning jars like pint or 1/2 pint sized, jars from sauce,jam, etc.
Fill with fairly hot water and seal and pop in.

Brick or stone would make an affordable heat sink for sure. I would think that bags/containers of water would work too.

water is one of the best when looking for thermal mass.
