Hello
My Americauna is a cross beak and was put with the other chickens until it became a problem. Our Bantam rooster got on her , idk if violently or just to mate, but she didn’t like it. She seemed distressed (panting hard / not moving ) so we separated her. She would let out high pitch chirps sporadically. Since she has been eating and drinking. Btw we soften her food in a deep dish to help her pick up the food. It has been 3 days and this morning she was panting / chirping again.

Do you have a picture of her? Can you get a short video of her doing this and upload to to a site, such as YouTube or Vimeo, and post a link here? Is the chirp sound a sneeze possibly? Could she be getting dust from the feed into her nostrils? Are the nostrils clear of food? She could be placed near the others in her crate for company.

I will grab a pic when I get home from work and check possible other problems. She is currently with another one of our hens that broke her leg :( I promise we truly love our chickens just having some really bad luck!
