***heavy pics**** Okay, give me the bad news - Roo or hen?

i first thought hen. but taking a closer look at the saddle feathers which look like a roosters. and tail feathers which are starting to curv down like a rooster... im going with rooster too

I'd have to say roo because of the hackle feathers....

4 months and not crowing?? really?? How are you so lucky? I'll go against the crowd and say hen. My BOs have large combs.

I say little boy. The saddle and hackle feathers give him away...

I'd say boy too. It is not all that unusual for a cockerel to not crow, especially if there are others around that are higher on the pecking order.

I'm in the same boat as you. I recently bought 4 BOs and a Barred Rock only to have everyone on here tell me they were all roos. But then I saw someone post a pic of their BOs for sale around the age of mine and listed one as a pullet that looked exactly like mine and yours. I sold 3 of them, but held onto the one that looked most hen'ish and am waiting for a crow, but no signs of anything yet or from the Barred Rock.

Here is mine. The sun makes the comb and wattles look redder, they are really a pinkish white.
