the little boys are attaching themselves to me like glue. I have to watch myself because one in particular runs up and practically jumps onto my shoes! Lizzie is a great mom and has not warned them away from us so their natural friendly personalities are showing up early.

Hector's 13 week old son is going to be an amazing guardian. I grabbed MaryJo when they were in the pen and she put up a fuss. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him charging over to come to her rescue. He didn't do anything, but he was ready to take care of business if it had been a predator, though he's only a baby.

My very favorite rooster I ever had was a stately gentleman, he would gravely do a little dance for me from the time he was a young cockerel, and allowed himself to be picked up and held. One day I was in the pen and caught one of the girls, and she set up a big squawking fit. He came charging out the pop door down the ramp, suddenly stopped, and looked at me with this "Oh - it's you" look on his face. He even thunked a hen once that I was trying to catch. He developed a painful limp, could not get around to do his rooster business, and eventually had to be put down, much to our sorrow.
