Hedwig the head case! Mental chick!

I really love my chickens too. I make them pancakes I add the fines from the bottom of the bag of pellets, extra egg,oat meal and some instant potatoes I have also added fruit or vegetables. I sit out with them everyday, they are a joy to be around. Getting that first egg is exciting, your girls should start in the spring. Do you get a cold winter where you live? Have you started building your coop? The little sneeze just once in a while is probably just dust.
I just posted about deep litter method for small coop today and have lots of pics in that thread. We are refurbishing a gently used handmade coop.

That sounds yummy! I will try that! We have been taking them outside a couple of times a day when it's warm, which is almost every day in SoCal. They are so fun to watch. Can't wait for eggs!!!

I went to the deep litter thread you were talking in. The coop is so cute. It is on the small size but you have a couple silkies and they don't take much room. Have you read anything about using sand? I guess you can scoop the poop like in a cat box. I am in Arizona we are having wonderful weather too. To bad we don't live closer I would just give you some fresh eggs.
